50 companies From Brazil Start U.S. Operations From Pompano Beach
Sorry there was no photo online with this article. I have written a lot about the tremendous influx of internationals to Florida from countries to the South of us. This article looks at the tremendous economic impact that they bring to the region. In this case, it examines the incredible impact that Brazilians are having in Pompano Beach. At least 50 Brazilian companies are being created with the assistance of a consulting company called Duvekot, who specializes in helping Brazilian companies with the U.S. market. Duvekot has a 3 year contract with Sebrae, which is Brazil’s small business administration.
To achieve this Duvekot is working with the Greater Ft. Lauderdale Alliance and Nova Southeastern University. This is a business incubator program and really a testing ground of sorts because if it is successful it will be expanded to other parts of Brazil and other countries too. The 50 companies were selected from 2,409 applicants and are all from the city of Santa Catarina. All of the companies are in one of these four industries: software, high tech manufacturing, fashion and food. All of these industries are “on Florida’s targeted list and eligible for Florida help.” This first phase of 50 businesses will create 60 jobs and raise at least $9 million dollars over a 5 year span. There is also the possibility of one day helping Florida companies do the same thing in Brazil.
This is really what Florida does well, lure companies from other states and countries with our low taxes and weather which builds wealth here. I bet this program will be successful and lead to even more companies coming to Florida from many places which will, in turn, positively affect the commercial real estate market.
